Get a Licence
You need a Licence to Race!
Getting one is fairly straight forward, you don't need to pass a test like for on the road.
Write off to the ACU for an application form, if your under the age of forty simply fill in the form
and send it off to your club to get it stamped, if you ask the club nicely (and supply a stamped envelope)
they will usually forward your application form on to the ACU.
When I got my licence, you where required to take a medical examination from a doctor, but I believe this
is nolonger required (Don't quote me on that, read the form sent to you by the ACU!).
At the moment, if your over the age of forty you are required to take an eye test at an opticians.
When you receive your licence you will also get a ACU handbook. This, somewhat daunting book, contains all the rules
and regulations regarding racing. If you have an queries regarding rules, do not take my word for them, look them up
in your ACU handbook!
