Join a Club

In order to obtain a licence you must be a member of a recognised club.
You do not have to race at races ran only by your club, most clubs allow non-members to race as a day member.
You can be a member of more than one club, but you have to be a fully paid up member of at least one!

1. How much does it cost?

Like everything else this varies, the prices range from 10 to 30 pounds.

2. Which one(s) should I join?

This really depends on:

There are lots of clubs around the country, some are territorial clubs that just race at one track, ranging to the bigger clubs that race at various tracks throughout the country.
I am a member of New Era, they race at lots of tracks around the country, mainly within a 120 mile radius from where I live. They have a very competitive 600 class, so they are the club for me. You may have different needs, so look at what each club has to offer you.
Some clubs are ran as a part time thing by the organisers, where as other clubs (such as New Era) are ran more like a business on a full time basis.
Decide in which class and what tracks and make a decision from there.
